Mother's Day

May has quite a few noteworthy Holidays and “National” days. From Cinco De Mayo to Memorial Day, May surely is a jam-packed month filled with celebrating, remembering, barbecuing, spending time with family and having fun!

Cinco De Mayo (May 5th):

  • Cinco de Mayo 2020 is a celebration that is observed, yearly, on May 5. It is a day that commemorates the Mexican army’s victory, on May 5, 1862, over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). In the United States Cinco de Mayo 2020 has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture but should not be confused with Mexico’s Independence Day which is celebrated on September 16.

Mother’s Day (May 10th)

  • Mother’s Day is a holiday celebrated annually on the second Sunday of May. It is a day that commemorates motherhood and appreciates all mothers and mother-figures (including grandmothers, great-grandmothers, stepmothers, and foster mothers) as well as their contribution to society.

Memorial Day (May 25th)

  • Memorial Day 2020 formally known as Decoration Day, is a federal holiday observed yearly on the last Monday of May. Memorial Day 2020 is a day that commemorates all men and women who have died while serving in the military for the United States of America.
